Lost River Camps

where to camp on the Guadalupe river in new braunfels?

I am planning on going up to new braunfels early may and am looking for a good place to camp. I will be bring about twelve people up there with us and we would like somewhere that isn't full of people. are there any big lakes close to the river where we can camp? does anyone know if there are any alligators in the river?

2. Canyon Lake is actually an empoundment of the Guadalupe River, and it has a whole bunch of campgrounds. Alligators were sighted not too long ago in the Guadalupe River in Starcke Park in Seguin. This is South Texas...any body of water could potentially hold alligators. You need to know that this part of Texas is in an extreme drought condition, and that Canyon Lake and the river are both horribly low.
