Tent camping on a River in Texas?
I want to go camping in tent near a river somewhere in Texas. Preferably close to Dallas/Fort Worth. Is that possible? Where could I go?

- Well, it depends on where, near the calm waters, or where its rough. calm would be nice, because then you can sleep with no distractions.Texas? If you're going in the summer [which you probably are], It might be a little hot. make sure you have a battery powered fan during the night!
- It's absolutely possible with literally hundreds of choices, and you will probably have to check out each area further in order to decide which one will be best for you, here's just a few of dozens of sites...............................................
- I personally like camping on rivers with nice sand beaches and warm water. If you are willing to drive 45 minutes north on I-35 you can access the Red River from the LAST exit before entering Oklahoma. If you take that exit (sorry can't remember number or name) you can drive right onto the river bottom just before you go back under the highway. Use long metal stakes instead of the short plastic ones intended for rocky soil. Driftwood should be plentiful for your fires. ALWAYS check the weather upstream for some ways to be aware of the possibility of a flash flood/rising water. Have fun!
