i live in n.y and was looking for good nearby rivers that i can kyak on and camp on the banks as i make my way down stream, and im looken for real forest, far from poeple

1. How far are you looking to go? Saco River up around North Conway, NH and Saco, ME is the best but that might be too out of the way. Unless you want that.
2. check with your states dnr the will have alist of streams
