river camping? i live in n.y and was looking for good nearby rivers that i can kyak on and camp on the banks as i make my way down stream, and im looken for real forest, far from poeple

What should i bring when canoeing down the river and camping there for the weekend? I want to go camping down the Peace River in Florida for the weekend but I'm not sure what I would need to bring because my friends and I would be canoeing most of the way. So I have to be careful about getting our stuff wet. Is there any advice on what items to bring and how not to get everything wet (although it'll probably happen because you're in water lol).

Is camping along the Russian River - not at a pay site - legal? I am planning a camping and canoe trip along the Russian River in Sonoma County, CA. I don't want to stay at a public (pay) site but rather would want to camp along the river or on one of the river islands. I know it is public land - but is it legal?

We are a KC group of about 30 just looking to find a campground to float that isn't "family oriented" with strictly enforced quiet hours starting at 10 or 11. We want to stay as close as possible which means basically Lebanon (Niangua), Eldrgidge (Little Niangua), Pineville/Noel (Elk/Sugar Creek) areas. The only place I have found is River Ranch Resort but their "late night loop" campground is full. There has to be other late night campgrounds for these rivers right?

camping on the current river? hey i was just wondering how strictly underage drinking is inforced on the river and in the campgrounds? ok then, I really don't need a lecture just wondering don't answer unless you have experience on the river. I would like to know how strictly they inforce the laws. Are there cops on the river, in the camp ground, or is it pretty lax.

going camping and floating the river? I don't need to provide anything to float down on,food and anything to cook the food on or paper plates and plastic utensils.So I packed two days worth of clothes,a blanket, toothbrush, toothpaste, swimsuit, something to sleep in,and shorts.Is it normal to feel like you're missing something?Especially if its' been two years since you last went camping?I'm going with a bunch of friends. Can any give me advise where to fish and what to expect from both fishing and camping experience. I have some experience at salt water fishing, but fresh water fishing is new to me. Advise? What are some foods I can bring camping? I'm going camping tomarrow on the river and I need to know some good food to bring. I dont want to do much cooking or preparing. Just some easy good stuff other than the normal hot dogs, chips and smores. Also I have a cooler but things dont stay as cold as a fridge so I kinda feel limited since I dont want the food to go bad.

Camping in the middle of nowhere colorado? If I were camping out in the middle of nowhere, and set up a camp to do some gold hunting... Stayed out there for several weeks.. How could I do this without getting in trouble? I would need to set up camp near the river I am prospecting.. And I dont see anyone having the discipline to follow all those rules about keeping anything with scent in a bear protective container for a couple weeks on end. How do you pull something like this off without getting into trouble with bears or rangers.

I am looking for an aerial view on the siletz river in oregon, of an indian head? I found it once and thought I could find it again, but, to no avail. would appreciate any help in finding it. It could be in the coyote rock area of the siletz river, its a camp/RV park.

Where does the property line fall when living on a river? I'm going canoeing down a river in Wisconsin. Its going to be like a 12 hour trip w/o any breaks, so I was going to setup camp somwhere along the river. I was wondering if sandbanks actually belong to the nearest land owner or if it belongs to the state. The reason why I'm wondering is because sandbars commonly change positions along the river when theres high tide at the begging of Spring and then it deposits the sand in a different spot. Also sometimes the sandbars pop up in the middle of the river so who owns that? If you can give me a website link also that would be great. Thanks!
